Mrs Sharon Rose Biebel Hartmann

On January 29, surrounded by her beloved family, Sharon Rose Biebel Hartmann (80) passed away peacefully. Born to Marvil Toonen and Norbert Biebel on October 4, 1942, Sharon grew up in Green Bay, graduated from St. Joseph Academy in 1961, and St. Norbert College in 1965. Sharon met George F. Hartmann at St. Norbert College and they married on June 19, 1965. Sharon always said her wedding day was the luckiest day of her life. Sharon and George moved around the country while having their family and settled back in Green Bay in 1974 to be close to Sharon's parents. Sharon was dedicated to service and many community and church activities. Organizations include: Service League, Paul's Pantry, Meatloaf Ladies at the New Community Shelter, Miracle League, Ladies of Lambeau, Childhood Safety, Nursing Home and Hospital Eucharistic Minister, and St. Norbert Student Teacher Supervisor. Sharon also spent a week teaching as a volunteer at Resurrection's Sister Parish in Okolona, Mississippi. Sharon was especially dedicated to the Salvation Army participating in activities such as tutoring students in the after school program, interviewing families for the Christmas Tree of Giving, bell ringing and organizing the annual golf outing to raise funds for the children's program at Union Court. Sharon loved life. As a young woman, Sharon was named "the Ideal Academy Girl." She was crowned both St. Norbert Homecoming Queen and Junior Prom Queen. She was blessed with many wonderful friends she treasured and was often the organizer of social gatherings to celebrate life together. She loved to smile, play tennis and golf, read, plant flowers, dance and watch sports. Sharon loved all children and always focused on helping others. Sharon taught at Resurrection Catholic School for 20 years. She looked at life with the glass half full, never half empty. Sharon was devoted to her family with her children and grandchildren as her highest priority. She hosted all the important events and focused on every last detail to be sure each family member felt special. Sharon is survived by her husband of 57 years, George. Three children, Michelle Hartmann Puryear and husband Matt (Nashville, TN), Kathleen Hartmann Velner and husband Tim (Minneapolis, MN), Michael Hartmann (Green Bay, WI) and eight grandchildren, Claire and Caroline Puryear, Lucy, Cecilia and Vincent Velner, George, Maximus and Callaway Hartmann. Sharon is further survived by her two sisters Janis Redmond (Jim, deceased, and Janis's friend Tom Ryan) and Kathleen Riopelle (Tom) and nieces Susan Hanson (Paul) and Lynn Moyer (Doug). Sharon lived by the motto... "Others, Lord, yes others let this my motto be. Help me to live for others so that I may live for Thee." Mass of Christian Burial will be at Resurrection Catholic Church located at 333 Hilltop Road Green Bay, WI 54301 on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at 11 am. Visitation will be from 9 to 10:45am. Reception to follow service. In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to New Community Shelter, Salvation Army, Foundations for Health and Wholeness, and The Gathering Place.
