Richard J Bishop

Rick passed away on March 27th surrounded by the love of all his children. Born on Tuesday, October 10, 1950, in Green Bay, the son of Charles and Mary Bishop (Reinhard). Rick graduated from West high school in 1970 and joined the US Navy after graduation. He served 3 years on the USS Prairie. After the service he began working with his dad and brother painting churches, and then began at Paper Converting in 1975, where he retired from in 2017 at a road service engineer. During his time as a road service engineer, he traveled to many different countries and always came home with great stories to tell. Anyone who knew him knew what a hard-working guy he was. He could fix, build, and create pretty much anything he wanted. He always live life to the fullest. I remember him telling me a story about when he was younger. He decided he wanted to see Texas so he left that day. Drove all the way there and then turned around and just came back home. He was up for anything and always the fun of the party. Rick loved his whole family so much. He would do anything for you and I hope others can learn from how giving Rick was. Rick also enjoyed time up at his brothers cottage, playing cards and shooting the shit. He played as much golf as he could during his retirement, and he loved spending time with his kids and grandkids. Rick is preceded in death by his father Chuck Bishop, Mother Mary Bishop, and brother Steve Bishop. He’s survived by his children Nikki and Bill Bondar, Joel and Gina Bishop, Abby Bishop, and Eric Bishop. His grandchildren, Marleigh, Coleman, Billy Jr, Ryleigh, Beaudy, Braxton, Ray, and Charlie. Great grand kids, Mackenzie and Paisley. Coming in July a new granddaughter and Rick would have also been a great grandfather again in August to a baby boy. Brothers and sisters Chuck and Sharon Bishop, Bill and Mo Bishop, Cheryl and Don Jochman, John and Kathy Bishop, Mike and Patty Bishop, Donna Van Schyndel, Lavonne Bray, Mary and Tom Van Schyndel, Joanne Metzler and Tom Kassner. Many nieces and nephews. Gathering of family and friends are invited to join us at Hamlet Creek 3562 Finger Rd, Thursday, April 4th 10am-2pm, service will be at 1pm. The family would like to extend a huge thank you to all of the ICU nurses at St Vincent hospital for being so kind and loving to our Dad during his final days. Except for that one who kept yelling at us for having too many people in the room.
