Mary Ellen Bishop

Mary Ellen Bishop began her eternal life on Thursday, October 16, 2014 with the prayers of her loving family to help guide her. Mary was born on September 12, 1926 in Green Bay to Edward and Martha (Tennant) Reinhard. While attending high school at Green Bay West she formed many life-long relationships especially with the love of her life Charles A. Bishop whom she married on January 12, 1945 at Annunciation Catholic Church and they enjoyed over 63 years together. Chuck preceded her in death on February 16, 2008. Mary loved to spend time with her family and especially loved it when we all gathered. She enjoyed knitting, reading, playing cards, yachtzee, and spending time up north at their cottage. Mary was an excellent cook and made many delious meals with items from the big garden she had when all the kids were at home. Mary is survived by her children Charles “Chuck” Jr. & Sharon Bishop, Cecil; Bill & Maureen Bishop, Sobieski; Don & Cheryl Jochman, Plover; John & Kathy Bishop, Abrams, Rick & Martha Bishop, Green Bay; Mike & Patty Bishop, De Pere; Bill & Donna VanSchyndel, Oneida; Steve & LaVonne Bishop, Green Bay; Tom & Mary VanSchyndel, Oneida; JoAnn Metzler, Green Bay; 28 grandchildren and 44 great-grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren brother-in-law Robert Bishop & LaVerne Lardinois, Suring; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Bev & Denny Raiche, Green Bay; sisters-in-law Jeanette Bishop, Kimberly. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. Mary was preceded in death by her husband Chuck, an infant son, her parents Edward and Martha (Tennant).Reinhard and grandparents, her husband’s parents Clarence and Lusina (Reynolds) Bishop, a brother Edward Reinhard, sister and brother-in-law Nona & Wesley Carter, a brother and sister-in-law Carl and Ethel Reinhard, brother-in-law Donald Bishop, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Lois and Ken Kennedy Gathering of family and friends will be held from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, October 23, 2014 at Annunciation Catholic Church 401 Gray Street. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Don Everts officiating. Burial will take place at Fort Howard Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in her name. The family would like to offer a warm note of appreciation to Sister Pat of Annunciation Parish of which Mary was a life- long member and the experienced staff of Heartland Hospice for their loving care and concern. Also, a special acknowledgement to the friendships she formed at the McCormick Memorial Home and the caring staff of Maple Ridge Nursing Home. Mom we know you are in heaven with dad enjoying your eternal life with Jesus. We are blessed to have been able to spend the past few weeks with you preparing for this new life. See ya!
