Marjorie Broberg

Marjorie I. Broberg, 89, Green Bay passed away peacefully on Monday, February 17, 2014 at Angels Touch Assisted Living surrounded by her family. Marjorie was born on April 24, 1924 in Oneida, Wisconsin the daughter of the now late William and Evangeline (Wheelock) Metoxen. She was a graduate of the former St. Norbert High School now West De Pere High School. Marjorie had a passion for helping others and enrolled in the Bellin School of Nursing. She took a position in a hospital setting at both St. Vincent Hospital as well as Bellin Hospital for several years before accepting a job at the former Brown County Mental Health Center. Marjorie was a faithful employee until her retirement in 1986. On October 19, 1960 Marjorie married Clarence Broberg in Menominee, MI, and the couple enjoyed over 49 years together. Clarence preceded her in death on November 19, 2009. Marjorie loved life and was very proud to be a mother and grandma~ there is nothing that she would not have done for her family. She loved to have fun and always enjoyed a competitive game of cribbage, playing scrabble, doing puzzles and reading. Marjorie was a very crafty person when it came to knitting and crocheting being able to do just about anything~ from her baby blankets, Afghans to doll clothes, her family will always have something made with love. She greatly enjoyed music and had a beautiful Alto voice that was enjoyed by many when she was a member of the Oneida Singers and being in the Oneida Methodist Choir singing in her native language. Marjorie loved spending time outdoors especially enjoying it with Clarence but could always find something to do in her garden. She loved making new friends and was quite the social butterfly. Marjorie is survived by her children Lance and Susan Broberg, Green Bay, Bonnie and Terry Van Hout, Green Bay, Susan Webster-Lemens, Green Bay; Gene Stich, Kewaunee; Maxine Thomas, Oneida; Linda Webster, Oneida, Hugh Webster, New Franken and Janice Webster, Berwyn, ILL; 24 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren; three sisters Minnie Clarke, Dellora Cornelius, Dorothy Danforth, one sister-in-law Diane Broberg. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her former husband Robert Webster, three brothers Ernest, Joseph and William Metoxen, one sister Alberta Baird. A Celebration of Marjorie’s Life will be held on Friday, February 21, 2014 from 10:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at the Ravine 2633 Manitowoc Road. A Service of Remembrance will be held at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Candace Ascher officiating. Burial will be held at the Oneida Methodist Cemetery.
