James A. Kneeland

James A. Kneeland, beloved husband, father, grandfather great grandfather, and friend, passed away at home on July 17, 2026. Born in St. Paul, Minnesota to Charles and Palma Kneeland, Jim grew up with a strong foundation of faith and character that would define his life. He attended Cretin High School before earning a Bachelor of Science in Business from Marquette University, where fate handed him one of its greatest gifts: a young woman named Kathleen Kehoe. The two were married on July 30, 1966. Career opportunities with Aetna Insurance brought Jim and Kathy to Green Bay, Wisconsin. Every transfer opportunity that followed was declined. He had found his home. Jim built a distinguished career in insurance, ultimately purchasing the LoCasio Insurance Agency in 1978 alongside partners Dick White and Guy LoCasio, a testament to the trust he earned through decades of integrity and hard work. Jim and Kathy raised four children, Kristin, Tim, Karen, and Katie, and instilled in them a devotion to family so genuine that all four have raised their own families within five miles of home. That radius says everything about the man. Community was not an obligation to Jim, it was a calling. He served as Board Chair for Cerebral Palsy of Green Bay, in an advisory capacity for YMCA Camp U-Nah-Li-Ya, as a proud Cub Scout Master, and as a member of the Associated Bank Board of Directors, to name a few. He gave his time where it mattered. Closer to home, the Norland Resort in Ellison Bay was a cherished constant, whether a quiet week tucked away in summer or a long fall weekend with family along the shores of Door County throughout the 1980s. And since 1976, Siesta Key, Florida served as the family's grand gathering place. They loaded the station wagon each spring for two weeks of sun and togetherness, eventually making it their second home in 1993. Those trips became the stuff of family legend. The passing of Kathleen in 1999 was a profound loss Jim carried with quiet grace. On November 8, 2001, he married Georgia Bohman, and together they built a beautiful life, sharing 15 grandchildren, their beloved Siesta Key and Venice retreats, and travels across Europe and North America with cherished friends. Jim welcomed Georgia's daughter Amber as fully and unconditionally as his own. His Catholic faith anchored everything. Jim was an active and devoted member of Resurrection Parish in Allouez and Our Lady of Lourdes in De Pere. A life is made up of more than milestones. For Jim, it was also the small and joyful things: childhood games of Hot Beans, summers at Father Gibb's cabin, the warmth of Aunt Gladdie, Uncle Floyd, Sue, and Pat and always Mick and Jane. It was Jimmy Buffett concerts, peanut butter and crackers, a cold Blatz Light, running marathons and other races, early mornings playing tennis, afternoons on the golf course, and time out on the water. These were the threads woven quietly between the bigger moments, and the ones his family will smile about longest. The family extends heartfelt recognition to his caregivers, Lisa, Melissa, Jennifer and of course Georgia, whose compassion and dedication gave Jim comfort and dignity in his final years. They were, without question, his dream team. Jim is survived by his wife Georgia; his brother Mick (Connie) of St. Paul; children Kristin, Tim (Lori), Karen (Mike), and Katie (Adam); daughter by love Amber; grandchildren Nick (Taylor), Ryan, Kathleen (Jack), Alexander, Matthew, Jackson (Anna), Connor (Julia), Quinton, Claire (Kyle), Trevor, Charles, Aidan, Kemily, Anna, and Ella; his great(est) grandchild, James; and many beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Palma Kneeland, his wife Kathleen, his sister Jane McIntosh, and brother-in-law Dennis McIntosh. Visitation will be held at Old St. Joseph Catholic Church 123 Grant St. De Pere, WI from 2:00 – 4:00 on Monday July 27th with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 4:00. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes contributions to Cerebral Palsy, Inc. or The Michael J.
