Ingeborg (Inge) Jacobson

Ingeborg (Inge) H. Jacobson, 84, Green Bay Passed away on Monday, December 10, 2012 from complications due to Lou Gehrigs Disease at the Jack and Engrid Meng Residence on the Campus of Unity Hospice. Inge was born on August 23, 1928 in Saxony, Germany the daughter of the now late Paul and Herta Reissmann. Inge along with her mother and sister escaped to West Germany on the night of New Years Eve in 1945. She then left West Germany in 1954 and made her way to the United States and settled in New York City. In 1955 she married John Jacobson and they started their family. Inge was a very motivated person and instrumental in being the driving force to help John and their daughter Monica obtain their Doctorate Degrees. Inge was educated with college courses, books and life experiences along the way. John and Inge moved to Los Angles where she took college classes at UCLA. They then moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin where she taught German at Carroll College for over 20 years. After the death of John, Inge moved to Green Bay to be closer to her family. She managed to keep herself busy as an active participant with the Learning In Retirement (LIR) program at UWGB. In her down time Inge enjoyed spending time at the University Avenue A&W reading the newspaper and reading on her Nook. She loved her family and was fiercely devoted to her grandchildren. Inge is survived by her daughter Monica Jacobson and her fiancé Dallas Gunderson, Green Bay; one son John Jacobson, Milwaukee; two grandchildren Elizabeth and James Sayers, one sister and brother-in-law Brunhilda and Hanke von Schweinitz, Bonn, Germany; two sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law Phyllis Flato, Milford “Jake” Jacobson, Ardythe (Jim)Weston. She is further survived by nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. Gathering of family and friends will be held from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, December 15, 2012 at Central Church 831 Schoen Street. A Service of Remembrance will be held at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Aaron Schaut officiating. The family would like to offer a warm and heartfelt thank-you to the Staffs of Unity Hospice especially the Meng Residence for all of their loving care and concern.
