Gladys J. Haase

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Gladys Jean Haase, share that our Energizer Bunny, has left this earth and joins her husband Bob along with her parents and two sisters in heaven. A wise man (Pastor Dave) once told us that the information on a grave marker is important but the most important thing is the dash between the born on and deceased dates as that represents the life that was lived. In our mom's case we can say with certainty that her dash was filled with love and wonderful memories. There are many stories of times when her and Bob would save a little money, they would then look at critical family and home needs and if the carpet could make it another year, the money was earmarked for making a fun memory. These ranged from getting a babysitter so they could go dancing, taking family camping trips, to travel with family. Gladys leaves behind a loving family; Dan/Connie Haase, Deb/Larry Process, Dave/Ann Haase, Jim/Connie Haase. Cindy/Mike Sleeman, 12 Grandkids, 19 Great Grandkids, brother Bill/Sandy Schmiling, sister Shirley Kostka, many nieces and nephews and last but certainly not least the nicest circle of friends that anyone could wish for. In a well lived life Gladys spent countless days up north by the lake, traveling, and playing cards and games. Some of her favorite trips were to Hawaii, countless spring trips to the ocean in warm weather states with her kids and grandkids, as well as several trips with her friends. She loved playing cards and games with her family and her friends. (especially when she got away with her infamous One Cheat) If you were close to Gladys you were probably given advice or a path you should follow (even if you didn't ask) which usually turned out to be a good path and advice. Some of Gladys' advice: if you leave with $5 you probably didn't have enough fun, make sure you always strive to have a full belly laugh, be kind and help others, it may take years for that kindness to be returned but it will, strive to be happy and live your best life no matter what comes your way. Even in the last number of years dealing with multiple serious health issues, Gladys bounced back, happy to continue living the best life she could. The many times she recovered and kept on going earned her a family nickname of the Energizer Bunny. Gathering of family and friends will be held from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, January 31, 2026 at Our Savior Lutheran Church 120 S. Henry Street. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor David Hatch officiating. Burial at Woodlawn Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers or other expressions of sympathy Memorial Donations may be made to: Families of Children with Cancer P.O. Box 1494 Green Bay, WI 54301. The family would like to offer a warm note of appreciation to the staff of St. Vincent Hospital, Woodside Lutheran home and the Ashwaubenon First Responders for all of their loving care and support ~ your kindness will never be forgotten. Also, a special thank you to Unity Hospice for their kindness and compassion. Gladys would ask that we don't mourn for her and instead reminisce how each of us contributed a happy memory to the dash that was her life.
