Elmer Dury

Elmer A. Dury, Sr., 81 Green Bay passed away on Tuesday, June 25, 2013 surrounded by his Family. Elmer was born May 24, 1932 in Green Bay the son of the now late Edmond and Katherine (Tassoul) Dury. On December 5, 1953 he married the love of his life Patricia Thyrion at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral and they almost made 60 years. He was employed for over 27 years for the City of Green Bay as a Truck Driver in the Sewage Department. After retirement he wanted to keep busy and do something he loved so he decided to keep being an OTR Truck Driver. In his younger years Elmer was an avid boater and enjoyed being on the water. He also loved spending time outdoors camping with his family and deer hunting. Elmer was very handy when it came to woodworking and making lawn ornaments especially foxes. He was a true family man and cherished the times spent with them. Elmer was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who will be lovingly remembered and sorrowfully missed. Elmer is survived by his loving wife Patricia, his children Carol (Bruce) Gillis, Nancy (Richard) Brotski, Mary Ann (Tim) Terrien, Elmer Dury, Jr., and (Michelle), Christine (Raymond) Loberger, 9 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, he is further survived by his best buddy and dog in the world Tonia. He was preceded in death by an infant granddaughter, Becky, his siblings Raymond Delarelle, Rita (Patrick) Sergersin, Edward (Marge) Dury, Roger Dury, Bernice Dury. Gathering of family and friends will be held from 12:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. on Friday, June 28, 2013 in the Chapel at Allouez Chapel Mausoleum, 2121 Riverside Drive. A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Tim Shillcox, O.Praem officiating. Entombment at Allouez Chapel Mausoleum. In Lieu of flowers a Memorial Fund has been established. The family would like to offer a special thank-you to the staffs of Unity Hospice for all of the loving care and dignity shown to Elmer. A warm note of appreciation as well to Mr. and Mrs. Tom Declean for all they did to help Elmer out~ your kindness will never be forgotten. Also,heart-felt thank-you to Elmer’s grandson Billy for taking such wonderful care of Grandpa.
