Cheri Campshure

Cheryl “Cheri” Campshure, 42, Green Bay, died peacefully Wednesday afternoon June 29, 2011 at a local hospital with her family at her side. Born July 27, 1968, she is the daughter of Jeff and Pat (Heise) Mikkelsen. Cheri graduated from West High School in 1986. She met her husband, Patrick, while working at Wisconsin Public Service as a high school co-op student. They were united in marriage on April 21, 1990 at Calvary Lutheran Church and recently celebrated their 21st wedding anniversary. On March 29, 1997, Cheri was confirmed as a full member of the Catholic Church. Cheri appreciated the simple things in life. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with Patrick, and their “girls,” Katie and Lauren, and she was very proud of her family. She enjoyed reading, shopping, sitting in the sun, decorating her home, tending her flower garden, vacationing with her family, and playing with her cats. She spent many happy hours volunteering at Saint Bernard School, where she met many kind and supportive friends too numerous to mention. Cheri is survived by her husband, Patrick; two daughters, Katie and Lauren; her parents, Jeff and Pat Mikkelsen; paternal grandmother, Betty Brockman; one sister, Amy (Jeff) Broeckel; two nephews, Bryan and Jason; one niece, Hayley; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. She is further survived by Patrick’s parents, Donald and Joan Campshure; one sister-in-law, Lori Campshure; and one brother-in-law, Michael Campshure. She was preceded in death by grandparents, Ed and Emma Heise and Del “Rocky” Brockman. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Cheri’s long-time physician, Dr. Gerald Bayer, and the nurses and staff at Green Bay Oncology. Cheri and her family greatly appreciated the love and support of friends and neighbors: Frannie, Sarabeth, Carlie, Nicole, Sarah, Tricia, Emmy, and Billy. Gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, July 5, 2011, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Saint Bernard Catholic Church 2040 Hillside Lane, Green Bay. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 5 p.m. with Reverend David Pleier officiating. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Cheri’s name at the Saint Bernard Catholic School library. Cheri was a wonderful and devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend – she will be greatly missed and loved forever! “The ones that love us never really leave us – we can always find them in our hearts.”
