Catherine B. McClure

Catherine B McClure, 83, a Green Bay resident, passed away Thursday, April 11, 2024 at Eden Vista Court with her family by her side. She was born on May 13, 1940 in Green Bay, daughter of the late Vernon and Genevieve (Van Pay) Pigeon. She was a graduate of East High School with the class of 1958. On October 15, 1960 Catherine married Richard McClure at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Green Bay. Catherine was employed as a seamstress for many years with Singer and then DuBois Formal Wear. Later she was also employed with St. Vincent Hospital until her retirement. Catherine loved camping and square dancing. She and Richard were members of the National Square Dancing Camping Association. Catherine used her sewing skills to make all of their clothing for square dancing, round dancing and plus dancing. She also enjoyed playing cribbage and 500 Rummy. Catherine was a member of the Altar Society with Ss. Peter and Paul before joining St Bernerd Catholic Church where she volunteered as a Sunday School teacher. Catherine is survived by her husband of more than 63 years: Richard McClure; four children and their spouses: Theresa (Kurt) Stanelle, Anthony (Debbie) McClure, Jane McClure (Todd Peters) and John (Cindy) McClure; her dog: Becky; one granddaughter: Cassandra McClure (Fiance:Jack Hornung); one brother: Marty Pigeon; many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents: Vernon and Genevieve Pigeon; two brothers: Peter Pigeon and Roger Pigeon; a sister-in-law and four brothers-in-law: Gary McClure, Dave Netupski, Judy Joachim, Craig Wozniak and Robert Peiterson. In addition, she was also preceded by her dogs: Gypsy, Buff, Rusty, Lady and Pixie. Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 2040 Hillside Ln, Green Bay from 9:00 AM until the time of services at 11:30 AM. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Rev. Adam Bradley. Cremation will take place following services and Catherine will be laid to rest at Woodlawn Cemetery at a later date.
