Mr. Steven G. Gilson
September 26, 1956 - March 5, 2022
Steven “Steve” Gilson of Denmark, WI suddenly and unexpectedly passed away March 5, 2022 at home at the age of 65. He was born September 26, 1956 to the late Lynn and Audrey (Ellis) Gilson in Green Bay, WI. Steve went to school in the Wrightstown school system, graduating in 1975. Steve spent most of his career working in the HVAC industry and loved his “cream of the crop” job at Tweet Garot as a journeyman for SMART Local 18 union. When not working, he always tried to fit in some time for a round of golf or ride one of his Harley’s. Together, he and Andrea loved to take spur of the moment road trips, visit local breweries, explore wineries and discover local bands to enjoy. Andrea believes his favorite hobby was beating her butt at a good game of cribbage then consoling her with a cherished dance in the kitchen. His three grandsons were his pride and joy. When they would come to visit from Arkansas the four of them could often be seen enjoying one of Grandpa’s famous root beer floats before heading out after dark, flashlights in hand, searching for “Big Foot” and their bedtime stories to each other were something to be heard.????? Steve was a soft and kind-hearted man and will be missed by his friends and family and especially his “little yellow dog”, Sammie Jo. His wife will definitely need to carry on Steve’s Sunday morning ritual of feeding the wild bunnies at his feeding stations setup around the property. Steve is survived by his wife of 42 years, Andrea; his son Eric; grandsons Hayden, Tucker, Parker; and daughter-in-law Callista, who will miss him beyond words. He is also survived by two sisters Lynda Tetzlaff and Lori (John) Mollen. Three brothers Jack (Renata) Gilson, Dick (Galenda) Gilson, and Dave (Sharon) Gilson; two brothers-in-law Ken Bey and Steve (Dianna) Bey; father-in-law Roy Brown; as well as many nieces and nephews. Steve was preceded in death by his parents Lynn Gilson and Audrey Ellis Gilson, mother-in-law, Sandra Leach Brown, and brother-in-law Duane Tetzlaff. Steve was one of the most hard-working and giving men in the world and will leave a void in many people's lives. The world was truly a better place with Steve in it. Andrea and Eric would like to thank Brown County Dispatch, Denmark area First Responders, Brown County Sheriff’s Department and Aurora Emergency Room for all of their help trying to keep Steve a part of our lives a little longer. We will be celebrating Steve and our memories of him with a celebration party. The celebration will be held Saturday, March 12, 2022 from 2-6 pm at the Village Grille, 801 Hoffman Road, Green Bay, WI. There will be food and a cash bar. We plan on putting aside some time to share our memories of Steve. Everyone is sure to have a memory of him in their heart to share so please be prepared and willing to participate. He was an amazing and unforgettable man.
