Rebecca Lynn Valenta, Denmark passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 12, 2016. Rebecca was born on July 8, 1982 the daughter of Jay B. Meiers and Patricia Kiley Meiers of rural Greenleaf. She graduated from Wrightstown High School with the class of 2000 and furthered her education with an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice from N.W.T.C. A very active student, Rebecca graduated from the Greenleaf 4H Club participating in projects ranging from food, gardening, dairy goats, photography, rabbits and dog training to name just a few but by far, her favorite was the horse project. She was one of the original 4H ambassadors in Brown County. Rebecca was an avid band member under the direction of Kurt Risch, participated in FFA and competed on the state and national levels of the National Junior Horticulture Association. She also, played catcher for Tigers Softball. With so many interests, Rebecca worked many jobs from milking cows to working retail, security guard, welding and ship fitting, tending bar and cooking. She was very proud to be selected to train for the State Highway Patrol but health issues forced her to drop out of the program. Horses have always been her big passion and she was affiliated with the Rough Riders Saddle Club of Wayside, DRAW (Distance Riding Association of Wisconsin) as well as various trail riding and endurance riding groups. Rebecca became Mrs. Cory Falish and together they were blessed with a son, Lane, and daughter, Hermione. Rebecca is currently married to Jason A. Valenta and the proud Mom of two young sons, Joseph and Clint. As throughout her all too brief time on earth, there was always a new project, another horse or dog that needed saving, a friend in need or an interesting acquaintance that came into her life, sometimes for just a short visit and sometimes as a forever friend. Rebecca is survived by her loving husband, Jason, their 2 children, her first husband, Cory F. Falish and their 2 children, her parents, her brother Chris (Nikki) Meiers and their 3 children of Las Vegas,NV, her sister Sarah (Randy) Wilde of Arena, WI; maternal grandfather Raymond J. Kiley and his wife, Kathy, her mother-in-law Debra Valenta, Sioux Falls, SD; her father-in-law Robert Valenta and his special friend Pam Vander Kinter, Town of Eaton; 1 sister-in-law Amber Whitmore, and her 3 children, her godfather Ken Brittnacher. She is further survived by aunts, uncles, cousins other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Elmer B. and Mary Lenss Meiers, her maternal grandmother, Dorothy Koltz Kiley, a very special great uncle Dick Koltz and her godmother Teresa Brittnacher, her step mother-in-law Lisa Valenta, her mother-in-law’s special friend Al Slagel. A Celebration of Rebecca’s Life will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2016 from 2:00 P.M. to 6:00 at the Evergreen Bar and Grill 7075 Morrison Road, Morrison. The family would like to offer a very warm note of appreciation to her good friend and neighbor Bruce as well the first responders who valiantly tried to save her~ your compassion, kindness and efforts will never be forgotten.
