Mrs Myrtle T. Ripley

World Traveler Myrtle T. Ripley, 93, Green Bay, ran out of gas on Tuesday, July 4, 2023. Born the youngest child of Basil and Lucy (LuMaye) DeJardin on November 13, 1929. She was raised on the family farm and attended grade school in a one room school house in Euren, WI. She graduated from Casco High School where she met and later married Bob Ripley. They settled, worked and raised their family in Green Bay. Bob worked at Fort Howard Paper Co. and Myrtle at Larsen Canning Co., A&P grocery store and later at Ward’s Department Store. After retirement she was a volunteer at Aurora Hospital for 17 years, beginning in the hospital’s first year. Bob and Myrtle owned a cottage in Townsend, WI and after Bob died, Myrtle demolished the old cottage and built a new one on site for her family. As for her travels: Russia? Check! Europe? All of it! Australia & New Zealand? Yes! China? Twice! Egypt & the Pyramids? Twice! If there is a state in the U.S.A. she didn’t visit, I’m not sure which it would be! She was a G.B. Packer season ticket holder before Lombardi arrived. Ice Bowl? Of Course! She had a green thumb. She sewed. She baked the greatest desserts. She always said “There’s never enough time” Crazy good memory. She knew where everything was in her house, basement, garage and cottage. She knew the birthdays, and anniversaries of her siblings, in-laws, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. We will miss her cards, her tortes and her wisdom. Myrtle is survived by her children: Glen Ripley, Suamico; Wayne (Becky) Ripley, Green Bay; Susan Ripley (Murf Raquet); Moscow, ID; Randy (Karen) Ripley, Oconomowoc, WI; 9 grandchildren: Jason, Ryan, Wade, Garrett, Dusty, Neil, Sara, Eric and Steve, 9 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild on the way. She is further survived by nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Bob in 1982, her parents, her siblings: Mabel (Melvin) Deprey, Ethel (Bernard) Pinchart, Orville (Joyce) DeJardin. She was further preceded in death by her in-laws, other relatives and dear friends. Gathering of family and friends will be held from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 3425 Willow Road. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Dennis Ryan officiating. Entombment at Shrine of the Good Shepherd Chapel Mausoleum. The family would like to offer a warm note of appreciation to the staff of Unity Hospice at the Meng Residence for all of their loving care and compassion-your kindness will never be forgotten.
