Maurice Grindatti Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Maurice J. Grindatti, 84, Green Bay, passed away on Tuesday Jan. 5, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Calumet MI to the late Joseph and Olga Grindatti. He graduated from Stambaugh High School in 1943 and served in the Navy from ’43 to ’46 as a radioman on the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Bairoko. He and his wife Mary Jean (Taetsch) celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary on Nov. 3, 2009. Maurice worked at Fairmont/Kemps Dairy for over 30 years after retiring he began his second career as a school bus driver for Lamers where he enjoyed sharing laughs and breakfast with the other drivers and the homemade cards and gifts from the kids who called him Mickey. He loved spending time with friends and relatives at hunting camp and on train trips around the country. He treasured the many family reunions with his brothers Jim and Jack and all of the Grindatti clan. His greatest joy was the time he spent with his wife and children. Nancy (Dan) Bitters, Jim (Nancy) Grindatti, Ruth (John) Raymaker, Tom (Briget) Grindatti, Mary Beth (Jim) Appel, Richard (Heather) Grindatti his 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. All who knew him will remember his humor, his warm and gentle ways and his strong sense of family. He will be sadly missed by his family and all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his brothers Jack and Bill and his sister Eleanor Mead. . Gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2010 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish 2771 Oakwood Drive from 9:30 A.M. until the time of the Rosary at 10:45 A.M.
