Mary A. Hazaert, 79, Green Bay, passed away on June 7, 2021 at Aurora BayCare Medical Center with her family by her side. Mary was born on September 11, 1941 in Kewaunee, the daughter of the now late Frank and Clara (Dolski) Hromas. Mary attended grade school in Lincoln and also St. Mary’s Catholic School in Algoma. She went to Algoma High School for 2 years, later graduating from Preble High School with the class of 1959. On September 29, 1962 she married Kenneth “Ken” Hazaert at St. Bernard Catholic Church. Mary was employed at Collins Preble Super Valu and later Allouez Super Valu as a head checker and bookkeeper for 12 years. After she retired from Super Valu, she babysat part-time for 5 different families and loved every minute with the kids. Mary then worked at Eisenhower School for 22 years retiring in May of 2005. In her earlier years she was a member of the Ledgeview Horse Club and especially loved raising and showing horses. Mary was a member of the Bellevue Snow Diamond along with belonging to the National Order of Catholic Foresters. She was a loving wife, mother, grandma, great-grandma and a friend to many and will always be lovingly remembered and sorrowfully missed. Mary is survived by her loving husband: Ken, one daughter and son-in-law: Allicia and Robert “Bob” Kesler, 2 grandchildren: Kaitlynn and Kellie Kesler, 1 great-granddaughter: Adalynn, one sister and brother-in-law: Rosemary “Rosie” (James) Vandenput, one sister-in-law: Elaine Boehnlein, 3 brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Ronnie (Sandy) Hazaert, Danny (Jenny) Hazaert, Gary (Debbi) Hazaert. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father and mother: Frank and Clara Hromas, her step-father: Leonard Mancheski, one brother-in-law: Tom Boehnlein, a special and dear friend: June “Harry” Bourain. Gathering of family and friends will be held from 9:30 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. on Friday, June 11, 2021 at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 2040 Hillside Lane. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Mark VanderSteeg officiating. Entombment at Allouez Chapel Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers a Memorial Fund has been established in her name. The family would like to offer a warm note of appreciation to the staffs of the 3rd Floor ICU and Dr. Tomm at Aurora BayCare Medical Center for all of their loving care and compassion.
