Lee Berenns

June 1, 1923 - March 8, 2009

Lee J. Berens, 85, Green Bay passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2009 at Parkview Manor Nursing Home. Lee was born on June 22, 1923 in Minnesota the son of the now late John and Catherine Berens. He served his country in the United States Navy during W.W. II as a Radioman 2nd class until his honorable discharge in April of 1945. Lee is survived by one son Barry J. Berens, Midlothian, TX; two grandsons Brandon J. Berens and Bryan Berens, one niece Bonnie Cagle, Green Bay. He is further survived by many friends. He was preceded in death by his sisters Beata Jerry, Yolande Hummel, Regina Horstmann, an infant brother and another sister. In honor of Lee’s wishes Private Services will be held for the immediate family. The family would like to offer a special thank-you to the staffs of St. Mary’s Hospital, Southern Care Hospice and Parkview Manor Nursing home for all of the care and kindness shown to Lee. Also, a heart-felt thanks to all of Lee’s friends who would check up on him and make sure he was taken care of. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy a Memorial Fund has been established in his name.
