Juel C. Madsen, 90 Green Bay passed away on Monday, August 18, 2014 at Kindred Hearts. Juel was born on February 22, 1924 in Eau Claire the son of the now late George and Olive (Carey) Madsen. While working at the Mirro Corporation in Manitowoc he met the love of his life Marlene Gauthier. They were married on April 18, 1953 at St. Peters Lutheran Church in Sturgeon Bay. Marlene preceded him in death on November 28, 2000. Juel was employed through the Pipe Fitters Local 400 as a Steam Fitter for all of his career until his retirement in 1985. He liked the outdoors and greatly enjoyed the times spent fishing. Juel was an avid Packer fan and like to watch the games. Juel is survived by one son and daughter-in-law Rick and Sherry Madsen, New Franken; 4 grandchildren Nicholas Madsen (Jenny), Jamie (Jason) Burich, Luke (Sarah) Madsen, Greg (Nicole) Madsen, 4 step-grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 1 brother and 2 sisters-in-law James (Janice) Madsen, Val Madsen, 4 brothers-in-law and 3 sisters-in-law Raymond (Beverly) Gauthier, Larry (Diane) Doolittle, Ronald (Karen) Doolittle, Stan LaViolette. He is further survived by nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marlene, 1 daughter Sandra, 1 brother Carl Madsen, 1 sister-in-law Delores LaViolette. Gathering of family and friends will be held from 4:00 P.M. to 5:30 P.M. on Thursday, August 21, 2014 at Christ of the Bay Lutheran Church 450 Laverne Drive. A Funeral Service will be held at 5:30 P.M. with Rev. Curtis DeCoste officiating. Burial at Blossomburg Cemetery, Fish Creek. The family would like to extend a warm note of appreciation to the staffs of Kindred Hearts and Unity Hospice for all of the wonderful and loving care shown to Juel. Also, a special thank-you to his church family at Christ of the Bay Lutheran Church for their kindness, support and special visits through the years.
