August 24, 1934 - February 24, 2014
Donna Vieth, age 79, unexpectedly passed away February 23, 2014, quietly with her Bible on her lap. Donna was born August 24, 1934 to Ed & Christobel Kingston. She was the third daughter, sister to Reva and Eloise, followed by a brother, Bruce. She grew up in Wisconsin, living in several locations, but her favorite place was at her grandmother's resort in the northwoods near Crivitz. There, she worked and played hard with cherished family, along the Peshtigo River. She graduated from Marinette High School and attended Teacher's College. For several years she was a dedicated teacher, finding special joy in teaching first graders and exciting them to love words and reading. She married Kenneth J Vieth on June 23, 1956. Together they built a family, spending the first half of their 57 years together in Southern Wisconsin, in both Beloit and Janesville. She was a loyal and caring wife who found pleasure in being a homemaker. Together they had two children; Amy and Kip. Donna was a devoted and loving mother, always believing in her children's best and encouraging them in every endeavor. Donna and her husband moved to Green Bay in 1990 and have made good friends among their many wonderful and caring neighbors. Her greatest joys in life were her grandchildren. She celebrated every milestone and success with gusto and was quick to brag. She was a "fun" grandma; storyteller, hide-and-seeker, snowman builder, cookie maker, cheerleader. Donna was a no-frills woman who loved the simple and most important things; family, friends, laughter, her garden, a little silliness, good food and a clean house. A woman of generosity and hospitality, she loved cooking and baking and never failed to offer visitors whatever she had to share. Jesus was her Savior and Lord. She practiced her faith with the community of believers at Faith Lutheran Church in Green Bay. She enjoyed her Bible study, participating in choir and children's ministry. She was well known for a decade as the "Soup Lady", providing warm meals to friends during the season of lent. Donna was a much loved niece, aunt, cousin and dear friend to many. Her cheerful and friendly countenance endeared her to people. She was simply a kind soul who brought warmth into every sphere she entered. She will be deeply missed and forever celebrated. She was proceeded in death by her parents, her sister Eloise (William) Sieloff, brother Bruce "Buddy" (Pat) Kingston, and many dearly cherished aunts, uncles, and cousins. She is survived by her husband Kenneth Vieth; children, Amy (Paul) Lindstrom, Kip (Linnea) Vieth; grandchildren Hattie (Matthew) Stuessy and great granddaughter Charlotte, Emma JoEllen Lindstrom, Grace Vieth, Truman Vieth and countless nieces, nephews, extended family and friends Gathering of family and friends will be held from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. on Friday, February 28, 2014 at Faith Lutheran Church 2335 S. Webster Avenue. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Joshua Errer officiating. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy a Memorial Fund has been established in her name.
