January 18, 1996 - March 10, 2020
Derrick A. Hallam, 24, went home to be with Jesus on Tuesday, March 10, 2020 as the result of an automobile accident on his way to work. Derrick was born on January 18, 1996 in Green Bay the son of Richard “Dick” and Tami (Anderson) Hallam. Derrick was as bright as they come and was homeschooled through 12th grade. He was an ambitious young man and was formerly employed at Simonar Shell and Stodola’s IGA in Luxemburg where he was well liked and very respected. Most recently he accepted a position as a Property Preservationist through Mark’s Services and absolutely loved his job and looked forward to going to work every day. Derrick had so many interests in life but his absolute greatest passion was his faith, children and Mission Trips where he was known as “Monkey” by the children in Myanmar. He was very involved at Celebration Church in many areas but was most active in the children’s ministries where the children loved him and he made such a difference. The manner in which he touched people’s lives was truly a gift~ he was a loving son, brother, nephew and a friend to many and will always be lovingly remembered and sorrowfully missed. Derrick had a unique gift of self teaching as well as teaching others, be it sign language, computer programming, flower gardening, along with so many other areas. He was a bit of a collector, from unique stones, to fossils or anything shiny he could find with a metal detector. Derrick had a loving and gentle soul and loved children and animals. Derrick is survived by his parents: Dick and Tami Hallam, his brother and best friend: Dean Hallam, his paternal grandparents: Richard and Geraldine Hallam, his maternal grandmother: Gayle (Tony) Janiak, his aunts and uncles: Duane (Julie) Hallam, Scott (Vikki) Hallam, Sally (Nick) Letter, Dale (Sara) Hallam, Pam (Mark) Anderson and Laura Anderson. He is further survived by cousins, other relatives and friends. A Gathering of family and friends will be held from 3:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. on Monday, March 16, 2020 at Celebration Church 3475 Humboldt Road. A Funeral Service will be held at 6:00 P.M. with Pastor Joe Grier and Pastor Mark Gungor officiating. In lieu of flowers a Memorial Fund is being established in his name to help children both home and abroad.
