Daniel J Moran III, 79, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday August 9th, 2014. He was born on January 12th, 1935 to Daniel and Elizabeth Moran in New London, Connecticut. Dan graduated from Canton High School and proceeded to serve in the United States Marine Corps until he was honorably discharged in 1962. Dan followed his family and moved to Wisconsin where he was united in marriage to Lois LeMense in November of 1957. While raising his family Dan continued his education, receiving his bachelor’s in social work and his master’s degree in Gerontology from the University of Green Bay. His Irish heritage allowed him to apply for dual citizenship which was a great source of pride for Dan. Throughout his life his major work was with the Wisconsin Division of Health. After his retirement his passion for history brought him to Hazelwood Historical Society where he worked for many years researching Morgan L Martin and his family. He was published many times in the Voyageur Northeast Wisconsin’s Historical Review. Dan also became a court appointed mediator for Brown County. Dan is survived by his wife Lois; His children: Daniel Moran IV, Gregory and Nancy Moran, Michael and April Moran, Lisa and Steve Devroy, All from Green Bay. Proud Grandfather of Ryan Moran, John Moran, Katie Devroy, Michael Devroy and Cheryl Moran and Great Grandfather of Natalie Moran. Visitors welcome and visitation will be held at 2:30pm followed by a service at 3:30pm at Allouez Mausoleum; 2121 Riverside Dr. Green Bay, WI on Wednesday August 13th, 2014 with Father Jack Officiating.
