July 7, 1925 - February 16, 2008
Charles Alfred (Chuck) Bishop, Sr. began his eternal life on Saturday, February 16, 2008 with the prayers of his loving family to help guide him. Chuck was born May 7, 1925 in Green Bay to Clarence and Lusina (Reynolds) Bishop. While in school, he enjoyed playing football and also participated in track and field. Chuck served in the US Navy during World War II, and saw active duty in the South Pacific on the Destroyer USS Aulick. He married the former Mary Ellen Reinhard on January 12, 1945 at Annunciation Catholic Church in Green Bay. Chuck made his living as a painter and decorator. Like his father and grandfather before him, he was a very talented artist producing paintings and drawings that are proudly displayed in his family's homes. He was active in the Holy Name Society at Annunciation Parish and was a Eucharistic Minister and usher. He enjoyed playing cards and especially enjoyed the outdoors and hunting and fishing and family times at his cabin on Merriman Lake near Dunbar, Wisconsin. He always had a wonderful smile, a twinkle in his eye, and a rich sense of humor. Chuck is survived by Mary, his loving and devoted wife of 63 years; children: Charles (Chuck) Jr. & Sharon Bishop, Cecil; Bill & Maureen Bishop, Sobieski; Don & Cheryl Jochman, Plover; John & Kathy Bishop, Abrams; Rick & Martha Bishop, Green Bay; Mike & Patty Bishop, DePere; Bill & Donna VanSchyndel, Oneida; Steve & LaVonne Bishop, Seymour; Tom & Mary VanSchyndel, Oneida; JoAnn Metzler & Gary Ruohamaki, Green Bay; brother Robert Bishop & LaVerne Lardinois, Suring; sister Lois Kennedy, Pulaski; sister and brother-in-law Bev & Denny Raiche, Green Bay; sisters-in-law Jeanette Bishop, Kimberly and Ethel Stencil, Green Bay; 29 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren with 6 more great-grandchildren expected to join the family in 2008.
