Carol Ann Vania

January 1, 1941 - December 13, 2014

Carol Ann Vania, 73, of Crivitz, WI died on Saturday, December 13, 2014 at Bellin Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. She was the only child of Joseph Martin Phillip and Getrude Ann Zak; born January 25, 1942 in Milwaukee, WI. At the age of 4, Carol lost her mother. Having a hard time, she looked for answers with God and joined the Dominican Nuns at the age of 16, but being a young lady, the Lord called her for something else. She went out into the world and found Raymond Phillip Vania. She found her calling, she started a family. The first blessing was a son Danial Martin Vania, second blessing was a daughter, Theresa Ann Vania, the third blessing was a son Tony Ray Vania and the fourth blessing a son was Raymond Phillip Vania. Mom took pride in her children. She made sure that she would do whatever she could to make them happy. Mom enjoyed movies, one being Omar Sharif in Doctor Zhivago and loved the song “Somewhere my love.” In her final days, she loved being up north surrounded by the woods. She had a great love of animals and cared for them all, they always had a way of finding her, which she would open her door and tell them to come in. She would help whoever she could, often giving more than she could. Always going above and beyond to see them smile. She was a great cook, learning a lot from her mother-in-law Viola Vania. She could make a gourmet meal with very little ingredients. Mom’s glass was always half full. Mom came into this world a lady, and passed away like a lady. The family will be having a celebration of Carol’s life with family and friends in June of 2015 “up-north” surrounded by the woods. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy a memorial fund has been established and condolences can be sent to the funeral home. The family would like to offer a special thank-you to Dr. Amy James and the staff of Bellin Memorial Hospital for all of their loving care and compassion.
