Elizabeth “Betty” A. Basten, 83, Green Bay, formerly of Chute Pond, passed away on Thursday, January 27, 2022 at St. Mary’s Hospital. Betty was born on November 27, 1938 in Green Bay, the daughter of the now late Sigmund and Frances (Mroczynski) Robak. She attended East High School. On August 29, 1959, she married Norbert “Norb” Basten in Green Bay and the couple enjoyed over 58 years. Norb preceded her in death on July 12, 2018. Betty worked at Moore Response Graphics for many years as Packaging Handler until her retirement. She had many interests but especially enjoyed watching NASCAR, the Packers and loved snowmobiling at their cottage. Betty is survived by her children: Julie Vandevelde and her husband: Jeff, Jane Pluff and her husband: John Swiecichowski, Joan Pieschek and her husband Alan, Mark Basten and his wife: Katie, 6 grandchildren: Torrie Basten, Bradley (Kristin) Charles, Kimberly (Louis) Acosta, Matthew (Mariah) Pieschek, Brooklynn and Breanna Basten, 11 great-grandchildren, 2 brothers and 4 sisters-in-law: James (Colleen) Robak, Robert Robak, Diane Basten, Janice Basten and Nancy Basten. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by 1 son-in-law: Gene Pluff, 1 sister-in-law: Tina Robak, 1 grandson: Cory Charles, 4 brothers-in-law: Leo, Francis, Ronald and Donald Basten, a special friend: Gloria Renier. In accordance with Betty’s wishes private services will be held for the immediate family. Burial at Allouez Catholic Cemetery. The family would like to offer a warm note of appreciation to the staffs of Unity Hospice, especially Lisa, for all of the care and compassion shown to Betty.
