Mr. Wallace "Wally" E. Vandenhouten

Wallace “Wally” E. Vandenhouten, 96, Green Bay, was wrapped in the loving arms of Jesus and was brought home to Heaven on September 23, 2024. Wally was born on January 26, 1928, in Brussels, the son of the now late William and Madeline (Deterville) Vandenhouten. He was a graduate of Brussels High School. On May 4, 1948, he married the former Erna Vandermause in Rosiere, and the couple enjoyed over 76 years together. They started farming in Casco with Belgian Horses. Wally was employed for over 40 years as a Fieldman for Green Bay Canning. In 31 years of retirement, he enjoyed logging, sawing, crafting, and driving truck. Wally was always willing to help anyone in need and visit those sick or grieving. Wally was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and a friend to many and will always be lovingly remembered and sorrowfully missed. Wally is survived by his Loving wife Erna, his children; Penny (Mike) Paque, Barb Gersek, Gene Vandenhouten, Deb (Don) Delcore, Dave (Judy) Vandenhouten, Kevin (Chris) Vandenhouten, 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren, Siblings: 2 sisters: Glory Wautlet and Julie Loritz, 1 sister-in-law: Monica Vandenhouten, 1 brother and sister-in-law Gary (Lori) Vandenhouten. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by: his son-in-law: Edmund “Ed” Gersek, his mother-in-law and father-in- law: August and Ida Vandermause, his brother: Kilton Vandenhouten, his brother-in-law: Robert Lortz: his in-laws: Ethel (Norman) Wautier, Orville (Flo) Vandermause, Ervin (Shirley) Vandermause, Richard (Gloria) Vandermause, Pearl (Melvin) DeJardin, Joan (Francis) Sacotte. Gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, September 28 from 10:00 AM to 11:00AM at Saint Bernard’s Catholic Church, 2040 Hillside Lane, in Green Bay. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00AM with Rev. Adam Bradley officiating. Entombment at Shrine of the Good Shepherd Chapel Mausoleum. In lieu of flower or other expressions of sympathy a memorial fund has been established in his name. The family would like to offer a warm note of appreciation to the staffs of Caretta Senior Living and Moments Hospice for all their wonderful care and compassion shown to Wally.
