Steven A. Schultz

Steve, 40, passed away unexpectedly, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, love, and unforgettable stories that will be told for generations. Born with a spark that could never be dimmed, Steve lived life on his own terms—full throttle, no brakes, and always with a grin. He was a devoted son, a protective brother, a proud father, and a cherished grandson. He is survived by his loving mother, Mary (Tom) Schultz; his sister, Amanda (Matt Radtke) Schultz; his four children, Damien Jorgenson (18), Jordyn Nolte (13), Brysin Schultz (8), and Braxton Schultz (4); his nephew, Skyler Ecker (17); and a large, loving extended family including Arthur (Dorothy) Rademann, Debbie (Tom) Rabas, Terry (Sam) Fameree, Lori (Kerry) Johnson, Randy (Suki) Rademann, Jim (Cathy) Schultz, and Joan (Clarence) Becker, along with many beloved cousins. He is also survived by countless friends and all those lucky enough to have crossed paths with him. He is preceded in death by his father, who passed away on October 29, 2025—a loss that deeply impacted him and remained close to his heart—as well as Dale Schultz (grandfather), Marilyn Schultz (grandmother), and Dorothy Rademann (grandmother), among other family members and friends. Steve spent his adult years working in construction, where his work ethic was as solid as the foundations he helped build. He was known for being a hard worker who could always be counted on—but also for cracking jokes on the job and keeping everyone laughing, even on the toughest days. His stubborn streak was legendary (a trait he proudly inherited from his father), and once Steve made up his mind, there was no changing it. His most recent job at DeLeer's Construction Incorporated was his favorite, leading him to some of the best friendships and strongest support system he had ever known. It meant the world to him, and it showed—because in return, he made a lasting impact on so many lives. Growing up, Steve made it his mission to terrorize his sister, but in the same breath, he was her protector—especially during storms, when he would quietly sleep on her floor. He had a special way of driving his mom absolutely crazy with his antics, pushing every button he could find—only to flash that signature smirk, melting her heart every time. And in true sibling fashion, she finally got the last word—getting to mess up his hair one last time without him giving her a hard time about it. Steve was the life of every party, an adrenaline junkie through and through. Whether it was his love for speed on his crotch-rocket—pulling wheelies that made everyone’s heart stop—or simply chasing the next thrill, he embraced life fearlessly. He did what he wanted, when he wanted, and never worried about what anyone else thought. Like many, Steve faced his share of struggles and fought personal demons, but he never stopped trying to overcome them. In his most recent job, he found not only purpose but also a community of incredible people who supported him through the hard days. It meant the world to him, and it showed—because in return, he made a lasting impact on so many lives. A celebration of Steve’s life will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at American Legion, 130 Railroad Avenue, Denmark, WI 54208, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. In true Steve fashion, come ready to share stories, laughter, and maybe even a little mischief in his honor. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses at Aurora BayCare Medical Center for the care, compassion, and kindness they showed Steve and his loved ones during such a difficult time. We are also deeply grateful to the UW Madison Organ and Tissue Center for their compassionate support and guidance in helping Steve save lives through organ donation. While he lost his fight, he is giving a second chance to many others—living on through them in a powerful and meaningful way. In his honor, we encourage everyone to consider registering as an organ donor to help save lives. Your support will never be forgotten. Steve lived boldly, loved fiercely, and left this world far too soon—but the memories he created will live on in every laugh, every story, and every moment of courage we carry forward because of him.
