Maureen J. Crooks

Maureen J. Crooks, 48, former resident of Green Bay passed away on Thursday, August 20, 2015. Maureen was born on December 18, 1966 in Green Bay and was a fraternal twin with Doreen to the now late Thomas and Irene (Okray) Crooks. Maureen had so many interests in life but she was especially gifted when it came to writing~ she wrote letters and poems that her family and friends cherish as keepsakes. She also kept many journals about her life and all of her experiences. Maureen loved to cook and was always baking treats for her family. She had a soft spot for animals and was very nurturing to them. Maureen loved music and greatly enjoyed drinking her coffee while listening to the Boss. She had a way about her to understand people and always had an ear to lend as well as offer guidance. Maureen was a loving sister and a friend to many~ she will be lovingly remembered and sorrowfully missed. Maureen is survived by her siblings~ twin Doreen (David) Cudnohufsky, Carole (John) Baetsen, Bob Crooks, Linda Crooks, Patti (Bob) Luedtke, 2 nieces Candy (Jason) Delvaux, Lindsey (Andrew) Zeutzius, 3 nephews Gary Luetdtke, Rob and Steve Baetsen, 2 great nephews Chase and Ryder Delvaux, She is further survived by other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant sister MaryLou, 1 brother Jerry Crooks and her maternal and paternal grandparents. Gathering of family and friends will be held from 9:30 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, August 27, 2015 at St. Patrick Catholic Church 211 N. Maple Street. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Don Everts officiating. The family would like to offer a special thank you to the 6th floor staff at Gunderson Health System, especially Stephanie from Palliative Care for all of their loving care and compassion~ your kindness will never be forgotten. Also, a warm note of appreciation to Doreen~ for the many gifts of love and strength that you gave to your twin~ she became the person who she was because of you. Also a heart-felt thank-you to her brother Bob for all of his caring and loving ways shown to Maureen~ she adored and loved you greatly.
