Mathew Nabbefeldt

On January 22, 2014, Mathew (Matt) Ryan Nabbefeldt, born April 17, 1983 the son of Annette (Krause) and the late Joe Nabbefeldt succumbed to H1N1, Type A Influenza, and Pneumonia while his mother and brother Dustin held his hand as he took his last breath on this Earth to go to his family in Heaven at North Memorial Hospital near Minneapolis, MN. Matt resided in Minnesota after graduating from Brown College in MN with a Radio Broadcasting degree. His smooth melodic voice, contagious smile, beautiful eyes which could melt butter, and dimples allowed him to make friends easily and become an instant success in DJ’ing with the Midwest Knight; the company he formed with his close friend Davod Zarghami. Matt was blessed on the 4th of May 2007 along with Suzanne Hickey to bring a beautiful son, Maxwell James, into this world. Matt and Max enjoyed spending “football” Sunday’s together, wrestling, tickling sessions and cooking and eating Velveeta Shells and Cheese and Pizza Hut. Matt’s love for the Green Bay Packers was undeniable. His mother and brother will forever remind people how he kissed the ground at Lambeau Field and cried like a baby when going through the Hall of Fame; growing week at the knees as he stood staring at the glorious Super Bowl Trophies. Matt is survived by his amazing son Maxwell, mother Annette, brother Dustin, a tremendously special uncle and mentor, Randy (Julie) Krause, Tim (Beth) Krause, Ann (Michael) Lagman; Biological father Allen Felch; Donna (Tim) Van Den Eng, Mary (Mike) Sigl, Robbie Nabbefeldt, Ron Nabbefeldt, Kathy Nabbefeldt (partner Bruce), Sharon Peterson, Karen (Mike) Laskowski; Paternal Grandmothers Anna Mae Nabbefeldt and Pat Nabbefeldt; Paternal Great Uncle Virgil Nabbefeldt; special friend Katie; and hundreds of cousins. Mathew Ryan was preceded in death by his young brother Derrick, dad Joe, maternal grandparents, paternal grandfather, Annette’s sisters Diane and Karleen, several great-uncles and aunts, and 1st cousin Cory Lee Norton. A special thank you to Gale and Katie Norton (and Brady) for taking time out of their life to bring Dustin and Annette to Minnesota to share Matt’s last days with him. As well as to Carrie Lynn Norton, for fielding calls from nurses and doctors to take in all the medical terminology and break it down to explain/share with Annette and the entire family. In Lieu of flowers a Funeral Fund has been established at Hansen Funeral Home to cover the costs of the funeral and Celebration of Life.
