Mrs. Marianne Leahy

Marianne Leahy, 93, Green Bay passed away on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at a local Assisted Living Facility. Marianne was born on June 4, 1931 in Green Bay the daughter of the now late Henry and Rose (Barta) Freix. She attended St. Mary’s Catholic Grade School and graduated from St. Joseph’s Academy High School. On August 25, 1951 she married Jerome “Jerry” Dennis Leahy at St. Mary of the Angels Catholic Church. and the couple enjoyed almost 69 years together, Jerry preceded her in death on August 5, 2020. Marianne loved to cook for her family and friends and was the most content with a house full of people and making food in the kitchen- if you left hungry it was your own fault. She loved spending time with her family from the many Sunday picnics, to camping and the moments spent at the cabin creating memories. Marianne made many friends in her neighborhood and many a time was spent on the porch enjoying the conversations to be had. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, a friend to many and will be lovingly remembered and sorrowfully missed. Marianne is survived by her children: Linda Ringer, Daniel (Diane Heinly-Leahy) Leahy, Sharon (Paul) Frisque, Colleen Bain, Diane (Gary) Greatens, Tim (Kate) Leahy, Paul (Diane) Leahy, Michelle Crooks and Joe Janquart, Jennifer (Gregg) Stary, 25 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, 1 sister-in-law. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews other relatives and her special friend: Judy. She was preceded in death by 1 daughter: Margaret “Peggy”, 3 sons-in-law: Don Awe, Pat Ringer and Rick Bain, 3 brothers, 2 sisters, 2 sisters-in-law and 2 brothers-in-law. Gathering of family and friends will be held from 9:30 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, May 22, 2025 at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral, 140 S. Monroe Avenue. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Ryan Krueger officiating. Burial at Allouez Catholic Cemetery. The family would like to offer a special thank you to her caregivers at the facility where she stayed and Unity Hospice, for all of your loving care and compassion.
