Lawrence "Larry" A. Phillips Jr

Lawrence “Larry” A. Phillips Jr, 82, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at a local hospital on Friday, April 10, 2026. Larry was born in Green Bay, WI on December 27, 1943 to the late Lawrence and Ella (Kiehl) Phillips Sr. He graduated from Abbot Pennings High School in 1962. Soon after, he proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1963 until his honorable discharge in 1969. Larry worked in the concrete industry and helped build hundreds of homes and buildings across Northeastern Wisconsin. His work included his own home, each of his children’s homes, and well-known places like the Weidner Center and Proctor and Gamble, along with many schools and churches. He started his career with V&T Concrete, later joined the union, and continued his work with Zeise Construction. Over time, he advanced to become Superintendent of Concrete at The Selmer Company, where he led projects and guided crews using his experience and expertise. After retiring from Selmer—earning his “golden trowel”—he became a real estate agent with Coldwell Banker. On September 5, 1966 he married the love of his life and the most beautiful person he ever met, Anna Mae Joski at Holy Martyrs of Gorcum. From early on they were an adventurous couple – taking countless trips down the Mississippi River with family and friends, camping with their children and the Racine group, going to the hunting camp in the North Woods with his son, grandsons and close friends. Through the years, Larry and Anna continued their adventures, traveling throughout the United States including memorable trips to Hawaii and Alaska. Their travels even took them overseas to visit their granddaughter while she was stationed in England, with additional visits to Scotland and Ireland. Larry was an avid sports fan who rarely missed a Packers or Brewers game or any of his grandchildren’s events. Above all, he was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, caring uncle and a loyal friend. He was always ready to lend a hand. His warmth, humor and love will remain in the hearts of those who knew him. He will always be lovingly remembered and sorrowfully missed. Larry is survived by his beautiful wife: Anna Mae, his children: Lana (Mike) Sidlauskas, and their family Rachel (Eric) Scullion, Andrea, Alex and his fiancé, Michelle Romero, Dawn (Robert) Foeller, Jamie (Tammy Ness-Phillips) Phillips: and children: Brook (Breanna) Phillips~ and their daughter; Margo, Kyle (Madison) Phillips, Trentin (Savannah) Phillips, a special family friend,Terri Racine, 4 sisters: Marilyn Conard, Ceily (Butch) Whittman, Leona (Howard) Klug and Darlene Van Horn, his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Glen (Jan) Joski, Greg (Joey) Joski, Dan (Linda) Joski, Karen Joski (special friend Garth Davies), Carolyn Joski and Ethel (Richard) Gross. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by 3 sisters and 3 brothers-in-law: Betty (Fran) Vanden Busch, Donna (Jerry) Larson, Carol Shier, and Ken Connard, 2 brothers: Gerald and Leon Phillips, 4 brothers-in-law and 1 sister-in-law: Kenneth Joski, Wayne Joski, Hubert (Nancy) Joski, and Timothy Joski. Gathering of family and friends will be held from 8:30 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, April 18, 2026 at Prince of Peace Parish 3425 Willow Road. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:15 A.M. with Rev. Bill Hoffman officiating. Our family would like to extend a warm note of appreciation to Bellin Hospital ICU and 8th Floor Staff and Unity Hospice for all of the loving care and attention shown to Larry~ your kindness will never be forgotten.
