Lawrence "Larry" J. Walton

Lawrence “Larry” J. Walton, 86, Green Bay, passed away on Sunday, January 27, 2008 at a local nursing home. Larry was born on May 10, 1921 in the Town of Rockland the son of the late John and Bertha (Stetson) Walton. At an early age, Larry started working as a farm hand to help his family. On October 16, 1948, he married the former Gladys LeCloux in Green Bay and the couple enjoyed over 45 years together. Gladys preceded him in death on April 22, 1994. Larry started his career as a beer peddler at Blatz Distributor. He then drove semi for Triangle Distribution where he was given the nickname of “One Shot Larry” for his ability to back up a semi in one try. He retired from Budweiser in 1978. After retirement, Larry liked to scrap metal and go for rides along his old route stops. He liked to take bus trips to area Casinos. Larry made two trips to Las Vegas. He enjoyed music and was well known for his dancing. Larry loved the times spent with his children and had a passion for old cars Larry is survived his children Nancy Voegtline, Kayalla (Chuck) Burkel, Michael (Vicki) Walton, Ruthann (James) Ullman, Dale (Janet) Walton, David (Janice) Walton, Victoria (Dean) Rubens, Lisa Healy, all of Green Bay; Debra (Phillip) Landsdown, Kenosha; Son-in-law Antone Fatla, Grafton; a daughter-in-law Sharon DeCleene, Green Bay, 28 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild Nathan, sister Marcalla Fengler, Brothers Jerome Walton, Green Bay, Edward (Pauline) Walton, Kenosha, Sister-in-law Ruth Walton, Green Bay. He is further survived by other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by one daughter Shirley Fatla, Five sons Gerald DeCleene, Gary, Larry, Richard and Steven Walton, a son-in-law Robert Voegtline, a great-grandson Tyler Walton, Four sisters Mary VandenBusch, Ramona Joepeck, Murilla Vande Hey, Catherine Ambrozich, Four Brothers Wilfred, August, Earl and Sylvester Walton Gathering of family and friends will be held on Wednesday, January 30, 2008 from 1:00 P.M. to 3:30 P.M. at Green Bay Community Church 600 Cardinal Lane. Funeral Service 3:30 P.M. in the Chapel of the Church with Pastor Kim Sechler officiating. Burial at Mount Calvary Cemetery, De Pere.
