Mr. Kenneth "Ken" B. Mayer

Kenneth “Ken” B. Mayer, 77, Green Bay passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2024. Ken was born on April 5, 1946 in St. Cloud, Minnesota, the son of the now late Lawrence and Olga (Mumm) Mayer. He was married to the former Sharon Steward for over 54 years. Ken worked for over 25 years at Wilco Cabinets building custom cabinets until he opened his own shop called Design-A-Kitchen until his retirement in 2009. He loved making furniture for his wife and 2 daughters, and other wood working projects. If his wife would say she was thinking of an Island, a Hutch or other piece of furniture, before you could blink an eye he was already framing it up. Ken also loved having a garden, some of his tomato plants grew to over 5 feet tall. He enjoyed helping his family with whatever they needed. He loved spending time and making memories with his 5 grandchildren from little on, whether it was taking them fishing, or attending their dance and sporting events, he was always there to cheer them on. Ken and his family loved camping through the years even when the girls were in college and enjoyed sitting by the bon fire until the late nights, laughing, making s’mores, pudgy pies and eating popcorn. Ken is survived by his wife: Sharon, his 2 daughters: Lisa Francois, Michelle (Kyle) Komarek, 5 grandchildren: Carson and his fiancé: Becca, Alex, Ryan, Aubrie and Megan, 1 brother and 1 sister-in-law: Delroy (Lee) Mayer, 4 sisters and 1 brother-in-law: Dorothy (Ken) Theis, Lil Mayer, Virginia Dahl, Donna Little, 1 sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Mary (Ron) Swanson. He is further survived by nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by a 1 son-in-law: Dan Francois, 2 sisters and 3 brothers-in-law: Lou (Fran) Blase, Carol Moschkau, Louie Mayer, Aldi Dahl, 2 brothers and 2 sisters-in-law: Don (Bernice) Mayer, Robert (Ann) Mayer, his father-in-law and mother-in-law: Lyle and June Steward, 1 brother-in-law: Tom Steward. Gathering of family and friends will be held from 1:00 P.M. to 2:30 P.M. on Friday, February 16, 2024 at Our Saviour Lutheran Church 120 S. Henry Street. A Service of Remembrance will be held at 2:30 P.M. with Pastor Dave Hatch officiating.
