Mr. George W. Kubalak

George W. Kubalak, 87, Green Bay passed away on Sunday, July 16, 2023 at the Jack and Engrid Meng Residence on the Campus of Unity Hospice. George was born on August 6, 1935, in Superior, Wisconsin, the son of the now late Petr and Maria (Sitek) Kubalak. He started his career as a phone system installer at Western Electric and then transferred to Wisconsin Bell. While working in Hudson installing a switchboard for the company, he met the love of his life Marilyn Bieneman, who also worked for Wisconsin Bell. The two of them dated for a little over a year before getting married. George and Marilyn were married on June 22, 1957 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Hudson. After a 40 year career, rising up the corporate ladder George retired on January 1, 1995 as a Quality of Work Life Coordinator. George loved all kinds of sports from watching the Packers to playing golf, but his true love and joy was coaching his boys in baseball. He had a heart of gold and was a servant by nature and was very involved at church where he was a reader for many years. George was a long time and extremely active member of the Allouez Kiwanis and always enjoyed the yearly Pancake and Porkie breakfast on Palm Sunday. He loved Christmas time and enjoyed playing Santa for his family and others that needed a Jolly Ole Saint Nick. George was musically inclined and played the Harmonica like no other, making memories for Marilyn and his children, and played until his health wouldn’t allow it. He had a tremendous sense of humor and was always quick with a joke~ he could always light up a room. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, a friend to many and will be lovingly remembered and sorrowfully missed. George is survived by his loving wife: Marilyn, his 11 children: Sharon (Craig) Pfluger, Green Bay, WI; Steven (Cheri) Kubalak, Charleston, SC; Ken (Colleen) Kubalak, Franklin, TN; Susan (Tom) Moon, De Pere, WI; Mary (Chris) Thelen, New Franken, WI; David (Cori) Kubalak, Silver Spring, MD; Karen (Dale) Milkie, De Pere, WI; John (Maureen) Kubalak, De Pere, WI; Elizabeth (Chris) Powers, Howard, WI; Theresa (Matthew) Perenick, New Franken, WI; James (Heather) Kubalak, Hobart, WI, along with 32 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. He is further survived by 1 sister: Josephine Koenig, 2 sisters-in-law: Diane Cook and Beverly Asmus, nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his siblings: Sylvester (Dorothy) Kubalak, Therese (Ed) O’Dea, Irene (Ed) Urbaniak, Agnes (John) Roznowski, Louis (Jennifer) Kubalak and Bernadine (Jim) Norris, 2 brothers-in-law:Roy Cook and Larry Asmus, 2 sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Burdell (Don) McGinley, Rosie (Ed) Barber. Gathering of family and friends will be held from 9:00 A.M. to 11:15 A.M. on Friday, July 21, 2023 at Resurrection Catholic Church, 333 Hilltop Drive. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 A.M. with Rev. Tom Reynebeau officiating. In lieu of flowers or other expressions of sympathy a Memorial Fund has been established in his name. The Family would like to offer a warm note of appreciation to the 7th floor staff at St. Vincent Hospital for all of their loving care and support. Also, heart felt thank you to Unity Hospice for their compassion and kind ways!
