Mr. Donald "Don" L. Delaruelle

Donald L. Delaruelle, 85, joined the love of his life, LaVerne, in Heaven on August 14. He was born March 3, 1934, to the late John and Anna (Netols) Delaruelle. Don was part of the Catholic Central Class of 1952. He married LaVerne Guns on June 25, 1955 at St. Philip Church. Don joined the team of builders at Hillcrest Homes where he worked until his retirement. Besides being a devoted husband and father, he volunteered in many ways including the Green Bay Diocese from 1968-1973 where he helped mom care for 14 foster babies, American Cancer Society Quit Smoking Clinic, Habitat for Humanity, Catholic Financial Life, and S.S. Peter and Paul for a variety of committees. He loved dancing with mom, playing cards, going up north, and spending time in his workshop. Survivors include 6 children and their spouses: Debby (Scott) Nejedlo, Cindy (Randy) Kuchta, Lynn (Tom) Fay, Theresa (Kip) Williams, Mary (Rick) Fisher, and Dan (Vicki) Delaruelle, also Rob (Alicia) Charles who always held a special place in his heart; 14 grandchildren: Derek (Jen) Nejedlo, Ryan (Adrianne) Kuchta, Jenny (Nick) Kesler, Kyle Fay, Amanda Fay, Geoff (Katy) Williams, Miranda (Baptiste) Paul, Kara (Ryan) Geenen, Matt Fisher, Laura (Joe) Lojsperberger, Tom (Sarah) Fisher, Mike Fisher, Kimberly Delwiche, and Amara Delaruelle; 14 great-grandchildren: Elise, Abbie, and Rayna Williams; Soleil and Amani Paul; Jameson, Olivia, and Sydney Geenen; Norah and Grant Kuchta; Maddux, Cullen, and baby Lojsperberger; and baby Nejedlo. One sister and brother-in-law: Rita (Harold) VandenAvond, who have provided endless support; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Luella Froelich, Ursula Puyleart, Carol (Ronald) Brice, James (Sally) Guns, Marilyn Guns; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one infant son, John A. Delaruelle; 2 sisters and brothers-in law: Joyce & Robert Boehm, Elaine & Don Johnson; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Ray & Arlene Guns, Gordon & Joyce Guns, Wencil Froelich, Isabel & Richard Puyleart, Ray Puyleart, and Robert Guns. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 18, at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 3425 Willow Rd, where a Prayer Service will be held at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue on Monday, August 19, at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. with Fr. Dennis Ryan officiating. Entombment will be at the Allouez Catholic Mausoleum.
