Debra J Folkman

Debra "Deb" Joan Folkman, of Little Suamico, WI passed away surrounded by many of her family on Sunday, April 14, 2024, in the early morning hours, following a two-and-a-half-year battle with cancer. She was born in Rhinelander on Feb. 18, 1960, to Raymond and Alma (nee Peters) Burzynski of Three Lakes, WI. Deb grew up in Three Lakes where she met and married her high school sweetheart, Ken Folkman. Shortly after, they moved to the Green Bay area and raised three sons. Her passion for cooking took her from working at a nursing home in Green Bay, to volunteering three years in Mississippi after Hurricane Katrina for a Seventh-day Adventist organization called His Hands and Feet. She then returned to Green Bay, cooking hot lunch for Adventist Junior Academy. Deb enjoyed spending her summers driving her dune buggy, camping and visiting waterfalls with her family. During the cooler months, she enjoyed spending time in Florida. She loved animals, but her kitties were especially dear to her heart. There are times when you meet someone who tells you that they are a Christian…and their life causes you to wonder. Not so with Deb. She was drawn into a personal, one-of-a-kind relationship with her Savior. She knew His voice and responded to His love for her. That response bubbled out in love and kindness to others. To be around Deb was to be exposed to a joy that flowed out of her, in praise to her King and Friend. Her deepest desire was that those who intersected with her would see Jesus in her life and be drawn into their own personal walk with the Majesty of the universe. Deb is survived by her husband Kenneth Folkman Sr. of Little Suamico; her three children Kenneth Folkman Jr. of Little Suamico, Keith (Heather) Folkman of Oconto Falls, and Lee (Monik)Folkman of Clearwater, FL; grandchildren Keifer, Raya, and Emma Lee Folkman; sister Julie (Paul) Burzynski-Lamon; brother Tony (Victoria) Burzynski; nephew Ian and niece Grayce Lamon; aunt (Viola Platzke) and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents Ray and Alma Burzynski. The family would like to offer their sincere thanks and gratitude to the Aurora BayCare ICU staff for their kind and compassionate care. The family also expresses their sincere gratitude to neighbors, friends and family for their prayers, kindness and help. Two memorial services will be held. The first will be held on Sunday, June 2, 2024, at 3p.m. at the Living Faith Seventh-day Adventist Church in Little Suamico, WI. The second will be held on Sunday, June 9, 2024, at 11a.m. at the Clearwater Lake Seventh-day Adventist Church in Clearwater Lake, WI. Interment will be at the Clearwater Lake Cemetery.
